Young Persons Worker (Reference: YPW01)

SALARY: £18,000 – £22,000 FULL TIME / PART TIME 

Do you have experience working with vulnerable children and young people? Can you make a positive outlook to young people by allowing them to Connect 2 Independence? Do you want the opportunity to grow and advance a professional qualification? Can you put young people first? Do you act with a professional judgement and can build positive relationships with lead professionals such as social workers? Are you able to work flexibly to meet the needs of our young people (shift pattern).

Connections 2 Independence are looking for a fun, outgoing, independent and inspiring individual to join our team in supporting some of our most vulnerable young people. We need drive and passion with working with young people as we offer stipulated support will include elements of 1:1 support and group sessions to access our support programs.

 C2I will include a variety of budgeting tasks in the young person’s support plans which include supported shops with the young person ensuring they can budget their personal allowance to purchase appropriate foods, health and hygiene products and any other essentials.  We will run group sessions to develop social relationships amongst young people, these will include cooking workshops, budgeting, group shops, sexual health workshops and other activities.

  • Understanding and promotion of equal opportunities in both staff and client work.
  • A “can-do” approach.
  • Applicant requires to take part in an Enhanced Criminal Record check/DBS.
  • Driving Licence and access to own transport. 
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service user empowerment and reintegration.  
  • Flexibility, creativity, initiative and self-motivation. 
  • Proven co-operation and communication skills. 
  • Excellent level of IT literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and case management databases. 
  • Level Three health and social care qualification

We provide support for vulnerable young people, which includes working regular shifts, evenings, nights and occasional weekends.

Mentor (Reference: M01)

SALARY: £15,000 – £18,000 TERM TIME ONLY

C2I will be working from ASDAN to develop the young person’s support plans which include one to one work as well as group and family mentoring services. Connections 2 Independence provide support from young peoples front door, we need you to be the face of our service and create a positive reputation for our service by working closely with families, schools and other professionals. We work around re engagement, learning programs and transitioning back into mainstream schools.

Personal Assistant (Reference: PA01)

SALARY: £9.00 – £13.00 per hour
HOURS: Flexible, Amount of hours worked, decided by yourself.
We am currently recruiting for personal assistants to work with young people within the community.
This role is to work with individuals to offer their families/carers a break, this may possibly include support within the family home, support out in the community, support at day centres etc. You will engage with the individual and take them out to access activities they may want to complete.
You will be allocated your own young people which could be one – five depending how many hours you would like to work per week.
Each young people have an allocated number of hours per week/month and these hours will be arranged with parents/carers to suit yours and the individuals needs. 
This role is a flexible role and hours could be 4 – 40 hours per week depending on your allocated young people. 
Within this role you will gain positive relationships with the individual but also the family, we believe you become a part of the individuals ‘extended’ family.
Essential Skills:
  • Current UK Driving License
  • Access to your own vehicle 
  • Business Insurance on your vehicle
  • Experience with working with individuals with disabilities 
  • Evidence of recent commitment to personal professional development. 
  • Experience of working on your own initiative and within a Team.
